Javascript/Coffeescript Developer
Our Needs:
Coverall Crew is looking for very sharp, cross functional developers with strong Javascript/Coffeescript development experience to join our group in Vancouver. You will be working with a team of people who are developers at the core and display a type of passion only others like them can truly understand.
The ability to work independently and in a team is a must as this position will challenge you in many ways.
Both full time employee and contractor positions are available.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Develop, test and support custom developed web application systems.
- Work closely with front-end and graphical design teams.
- Communicate with the project manager to provide regular progress updates.
Position Requirements Qualifications:
- 5+ years software development experience.
- 3+ years experience with Javascript/Coffeescript and related frameworks (Backbone.js, Underscore.js, jQuery etc...)
- 3+ years experience with Ruby/Rails
- Experience with MongoDB and the Ruby library Mongoid.
- Understanding of agile development methodologies.
- Deep understanding of HTML, CSS and the DOM.
- Full system life cycle development, and system quality assurance.
- Ability to coordinate with internal and external groups.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
- The ability to effectively work independently and in a team.

Software Project Manager (Scrum Master)
Our Needs:
A highly motivated project manager with web software experience to manage various high-profile client projects as well as bring agile software development methodologies into our work process.
Duties include serving as Scrum Master for small teams. Facilitate Sprint planning meetings, daily standups, feedback sessions, backlog grooming, sprint retrospectives, effort estimation & tasking sessions. Coach team members in the effective use of Scrum/Agile principles & practices. Maintain/enforce current Agile practices in the team.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Estimate, schedule, execute, and finalize software projects according to strict deadlines and within budget.
- Define project plans (scope, goals and deliverables) in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
- Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.
- Determine and assess need for additional staff and/or consultants and make the appropriate recruitments if necessary during project cycle.
- Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
- Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
- Provide status reports from the project team
- Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
- Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
- Conduct project post mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
Position Requirements Qualifications:
- 4 year of software project management experience on progressively responsible and complex software development projects required.
- Deep understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Attention to detail is a must.
- Ability to coordinate with internal and external groups.
- Written communication skills.
